Enigma

Installation
2013

Bachelor's work

The materiality of the components of the installation is important. Goat skins act as a reference to certain shamanic premonitions, or to the bestial side of man (the skins are hung on clothes hangers). It is like a hint to what lies within everyone as a primal instinct. The archaic nature of the work is also evident in the large, roughly hand-crafted wood structure that encompasses and “takes over” the entire space of the installation. Given the rural “culture” of our geographical latitude, it may also allude to the image of a barn or a cowshed, which can be associated with a kind of eroticism.

The enigmatic, dreamlike mood of the work dictated the title – ENIGMA (speaking in riddles; unexplained, puzzling text).
